Green Shade

A unique theatrical event exploring life after global meltdown: an ecological durational performance

Imagine a world where temperatures have risen and fallen, rivers have frozen and icebergs have melted. Rain is toxic, air often lethal. Humans survive in safe zones. Memories of life as we know it are blurred and confused.

The Wickham Theatre is transformed into such a space, offering visitors a rare chance to explore the possibilities and constraints of life post global warming. Lively and vibrant, involving and challenging, Green Shade is devised by students of the Drama Department at the University of Bristol and led by Professor Baz Kershaw in collaboration with Sandra Reeve.

"Innovative creative thinking would be the most essential commodity for survival and it is this that informs this most extraordinary performance."
